Annabel joined JUMP in 2024 as our Head of Design after relocating to the North East following over a decade of studying and working in London. Annabel's role involves overseeing the various projects undertaken by our design team while working collaboratively with the wider team to create industry-leading solutions for clients.

Originally from the North East, Annabel moved to London to pursue a career in design, studying Illustration at the University of the Arts London before working as a freelance illustrator upon graduating. Alongside working freelance for a range of clients, Annabel set up her own stationery business, which was stocked in the likes of Oliver Bonas, Scribbler and Paperchase.

Having worked in agencies as well as in-house as both a graphic designer and illustrator, Annabel has been involved in a variety of projects across both public and private sectors; ranging from arts & culture organisations to sports teams and charities.

Annabel enjoys getting to the beating heart of a project and is passionate about utilising design to address a client's problems. She believes graphic design provides an opportunity for businesses to engage and connect with their audience, and enable us all to better understand our environment.

Annabel is excited to be back in Newcastle and is looking forward to helping the team develop their skills while working on some exciting projects for both new and existing clients.

A lover of theatre, cinema and vinyl hunting. Annabel is a keen cyclist and bookworm who’s open to both high-brow and low-brow recommendations! Annabel's weekends are predominantly spent at her allotment, using the vegetables she grows to create a range of dishes (or enjoying eating out when that doesn’t go to plan!)

“Stop comparing your skills to others and focus on doing your own thing - you’ll always find people who admire you for being yourself. Where possible always sketch out your ideas, it’ll help you visualise better than relying on a screen or a tablet. And always be polite!”
