    Senior Designer

Laura has been a part of JUMP since 2021. At JUMP, Laura’s role is to embrace new projects and find the best creative solutions. This involves extensive research, sketching and collaboration with the different teams at JUMP to produce new and innovative designs for brands, campaigns and websites.

Graphic design has been part of Laura’s life for as long as she can remember. Growing up in Corbridge with a mum working in the design industry always meant her creative streak was embraced and a career in design was something to explore.

Having always enjoyed both creative and scientific subjects at school, Laura initially applied to study Human Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of Leeds but after an eye-opening anatomy tutorial, Laura switched to study Graphic & Communication Design and never looked back. During this time she undertook a Year in Industry, enjoying placements in London, Amsterdam and Newcastle, eventually moving back home to Newcastle after graduation to begin work as a designer.

Laura has a keen interest in illustration, branding and hands-on processes like risography and monoprinting that allow her to be creative away from the computer screen and add unique touches to her projects. Laura loves collecting inspiration from all aspects of life and the fact no two briefs are the same, meaning every workday is different. She is also one half of the self-professed ‘party planning committee’ with fellow Senior Designer Gemma, making sure no birthday, achievement or social event goes un-celebrated at JUMP.

Outside of the office, Laura enjoys testing new recipes, exploring cities and seeing live music. A dip in the freezing cold North Sea is also high on her list when the weather permits.

Research, collaborate and ask questions. Don’t be put off by not reaching a solution within the first 5 minutes, great ideas sometimes take time to emerge!
