Content Marketing Assistant
After three years in the education sector, Lucy wanted to broaden her horizons and explore what it’s like to market across a range of industries. This led her to apply for the role of Content Marketing Assistant at JUMP.
Lucy grew up in a small town in Northumberland, where she spent years helping her family’s small business. Her connection to the local area and close ties with her family meant she decided to stay close to home and pursue a BA (Hons) in Fashion Communication at Northumbria University.
Like so many professionals in marketing, Lucy found her way into the industry by chance. After completing her A-levels, she was set on attending university but wasn't sure about what to study. When she mentioned her interest in photography, Photoshop and writing, her career adviser questioned, "Why not try marketing?". From this, she enrolled in a fashion communication course, even though she had little knowledge of the subject. It turned out to be perfect for her, proving that sometimes the best decisions come from taking a risk.
During her studies, Lucy completed a placement year as a social media intern at a local college, an experience that sparked her interest in digital marketing and significantly increased her screen time!
After getting her degree, Lucy continued in the education sector, joining another local college group. In this role, she took on more responsibilities and expanded her skill set, gaining valuable experience in social media management, SEO, website maintenance, content development, analytics, and paid media.
At JUMP, Lucy plays an active role in creating engaging, authentic content that reflects each brand’s personality and goals. She works across content creation and design, bringing ideas to life and ensuring campaigns connect with the right audiences.
Lucy particularly enjoys showcasing a brand’s authenticity and thrives on the challenge of developing dynamic content that communicates unique characteristics clearly and creatively to achieve the best possible results.
When she’s not at work, Lucy enjoys exploring local markets, cosy cafés, and scenic beaches in the North East. She has a passion for supporting local businesses and talent, which makes discovering new gems in the area even more exciting. Having recently moved back to Northumberland after buying her first home, she’s been learning some new interior design skills and making the most of getting outdoors to enjoy the stunning scenery.
